A Visit to Pure Lotus Orphanage
It was a Saturday morning on 29th of October, we, the AUPEC Committee, had paid our visit to Pure Lotus Orphanage situated next to Union High School. We went with the educational party as our main objective visiting Pure Lotus. We arrived at our destination around 8 in the morning on this lovely weekend. We were excited to meet up with the kids and brought foods and beverages for the kids as well! Some of them were actually homemade jellies, cakes, and so on.
The games in our program list includes beepo, gesture, food-clearing-game, Simon says "AEIOU", and Iceman. It was great to see not only the kids had fun with the games especially when it came to the Iceman. Besides, the committees were very excited and even burst laughters while playing with the kids! The kids were brilliant in guessing the gestures by their friends in the gestures' game in the photo on your right.
Natalie burst out her laughters during the ice breaking in the living room of the orphanage while Xin Yi and Pei Liang were giving hints to the kids and yes, they were very excited on behalf of the kids in the gestures' game. The atmosphere were full of excitement as competitors were competing for higher marks as the kids were divided into groups of 2.
The kids, before the exciting games were introduced, were very shy until we get to know each other in the ice breaking game. A sweet smile from a kid looking at his friend during the ice breaking game to where and when who lose the game will have to perform inside the circle. Unavoidable, there were kids who lost and eventually had to sing and so on.
Queueing up for a cone of ice creams after having jellies, cakes, and so on were an enjoyment. It surprised us when the kids actually know how to discipline themselves when coming for ice creams. Happiness will be the caption for the photo on your left.
The food-clearing-game in the kitchen! It is named food-clearing-game as it does means food clearing game. Poor Xin Yi were being counted out during the game who wanted to help finishing the leftovers that day through la-la-li-la-tam-pong. Meanwhile, one of our committee members unleashed his creativity in making his meals look even more yummy which the pieces of cakes were poured on with the ice creams as toppings during the game.
The last game in the program, Iceman, was the kids' most favorite game throughout the program list. At the start of the game was really really confusing but it gets exciting and more exhausted later on. Xin Yi in the photo of the right were gathering the kids and the kids-wannabes for the briefing of iceman.
At the end of our visit to Pure Lotus Orphanage, we took group photos together with the kids in front of the orphanage before we waved goodbyes with the kids and departed for our lunch after the activity. It was a great moment that we had spent with the kids playing games, communicating, and interacting with each other. (:

AUP August Orientation 2011 - Treasure Hunt
We bet you guys had fun during the AUP August Orientation 2011 with the theme of Treasure Hunt! Especially the August intakes, do you guys had fun that night? In brief, we started our August Orientation 2011 at 7.10pm with the ice breaking game. The ice breaking game, Monkey Tag, a game with the combination of monkey and tag. People sitting around the circle were supposed to randomly shout names of other people in the circle and the ‘monkey’ was to tag the person with the newspaper stick as fast as possible and correctly. The game was designed with the cause of getting everyone to know each other by their names.
After having our dinner at around 7.40pm, the treasure hunt game has finally started when attendees were divided into 6 different groups. First clue of the treasure hunt was hidden in a block of ice that was given to each of the groups. Groups were supposed to melt the ices instead of breaking them to retrieve their first clue. There were 7 stations set up to provide parts of the treasure map to the groups right after they achieved the goals of each stations.
Of course, the clues were being divided into clue A to clue G. Where the details of the stations and what the groups should be doing in the particular stations are shown below:
Clue A lead them to LR 514 to play Murderer in the Dark. 1 guy will be the murderer and the other group members will be the victims. The murderer must catch the members and find out who did he murder. Each victim will hold a part of the NEXT clue.
Clue B lead them to the level 6 toilets. A person will be there at the toilet to give them balloons to fill up and be brought down to the basement. If the group goes into the guys toilet, then the guys will fill up the water balloon at that toilet and girls will bring it down to the basement and vice versa.
Clue C will lead them to LR404 to play Pictionary there. The station master will ask one guy to draw something for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, the group must guess the drawing.
Clue D will lead them to level 6. The group must play Pass the Message. Group members are to line up in a line then, the station master will ask the first guy to act something out and the last guy must correctly interpret the action and say it out.
Clue E will lead them to the rooftop. The group will play Imitate the Dance game. The station master will play a music video from a laptop and the whole group must imitate the dance from the music video.
Clue F will lead them to the level 1 car park. The group will play Ping Pong Curve Ball. Groups members are to form a line, with their back face down. Then, they are to pass a ping pong ball to the member behind them using their feet.
Clue G will lead them to in front of the TNB station outside of the college building (where the guard always sit down beside the entrance to the basement) There, they will play Sluggish Dip. Groups are to put their hands into a bucket filled with mud and worms to find their final clue without looking at the bucket when fishing for the clue.
After every station has been completed and passed, the group will end up with a treasure map indicating where is the final treasure. The final clue will be hidden inside the pool table’s coin slot which is only for the first group who gets it. Then, from the final clue, they have to figure out that they’re suppose to find AUPEC president, Jun Qi for the treasure. Prize ceremony was being held at level 1 of the INTI building right after one of the group has figured out the bits and bytes of the informations from the treasure hunt and found Jun Qi. The atmosphere in the closing ceremony was crazy when everyone actually started to throw water balloons at each other and some has fled away with their car.
It was a sweaty yet wetly night treasure hunt for the AUP August Orientation when everyone has the experience of loitering around in INTI College during the night, cracked their brains for the treasure hunt, technically exercised themselves throughout the entire orientation, and so on despite socializing. Hope you guys had fun!

AUP Gala 2011 : One Night In Vegas
How was our AUP Gala Night AUPians? The Committee has done a lot of efforts especially our Presidents and Vice Presidents in making the Gala Night's theme of "One Night In Vegas" a success! One Night In Vegas was successfully held in Equatorial Hotel on 2nd of July in 2011 starting from 7pm onwards where AUPians and friends were able to enjoy the atmosphere of gambling on the tables set up behind the ballroom. Of course, the gambles were not in monetary units at which they are replaced by the to-be-recycled metal chips. The appreciation goes to Andrew Tan in efforts of getting the metal chips and also the committee members in efforts of spraying the metal chips into different colors.
Besides, the committees are also being thankful towards the previous committee of fiscal year 2010/2011 for their guidance in striving a success for this Gala Night. The competition of gamble were held and we would like to congratulate the winners that night who won fruitful prizes that night. It is great to see everyone was so into the game even our principal, Dr. Michael Yap together with other staffs of INTI International College Penang. Besides we would also love to appreciate the help of the photographers, Chee Yi, Yan Yao, and others for capturing the fun moments in "Vegas"
For those who missed out the videos being played that night, you are now able to watch them here. Again, we would like to appreciate everyone for making our Gala Night, "One Night In Vegas" a successful event! Will keep upcoming events posted, cheers!
